Ed. note: Welcome to our daily feature, Quote of the Day.

Saturday was my first game. Once I whistled the game, that kind of set it in stone that I was the first U.S. female to whistle a game at the Olympics. Leading up it was exciting. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time and hoping that we would get that opportunity.

— Jenn McCall, a health care recovery specialist in Crowell & Moring’s Orange County, California, office, on comments given to the National Law Journal, on becoming the first-ever female water polo referee from the United States to work the Olympics in Paris. “None of us are surprised that Jenn is breaking barriers at the Olympics. Playing experience at the highest level, hard-working, attention to detail, and tough, Jenn has the perfect skill set to excel at refereeing,” said Daniel Sasse, a member of Crowell’s management board. “The IOC and USA Water Polo are lucky to have her, and so is Crowell & Moring.”
