I think all signs are pointing to a strong year. I think this will be one of the strongest years we see, in terms of law firm performance.

— Gretta Rusanow, head of advisory services for Citi’s Global Wealth at Work Law Firm Group, in comments given to the American Lawyer, on the legal industry’s upward progress thus far in 2024. According to Citi’s six-month dispatch report, compared to the first six months of 2023, demand was up 2.9%, productivity was up 2.1%, and revenue was up 11.4%. After such a strong start and expected rate cuts from the Federal Reserve, Rusanow said she was “feeling even more optimistic” about where the industry is headed.
