Seizing Donald Trump’s Assets: The Excisable Eight

The former president finally followed through and paid the $175 million bond to secure — partially — the judgment against him in the NY civil fraud trial pending appeal. So, for now, the NY Attorney General doesn’t need to go grab Seven Springs or anything. Though the partial nature of the bond means that once Trump’s appeal collapses, there’s still going to be several hundred million dollars worth of judgment to go get.

We began this competition asking which seizure of a Trump asset would irk him the most. We’re now down to eight contenders across our regions. Who will cut down the nets in each? You can vote to find out! Voting will stay open until Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. It’s a short turnaround, but that way we can open voting up before close of business on Friday and give you all the weekend to vote on our Final Four.

(1) Bedminster v. (3) Washington D.C.

Bedminster continues to roll on as the top-seeded golf course in Trump’s collection. But with Washington D.C. knocking off the legendary Turnberry course, could we finally have a contender? Both courses have hosted LIV Golf events, joining several other Trump properties as funnels for Saudi money. Bedminster is more highly regarded, but Trump’s Washington course allows him to collect fealty money from overeager lobbyists and lawmakers.

Until seeing this photo, I’d actually forgotten that his administration just slapped the U.S.S. Enterprise logo on a blue background and called it Space Force. This showdown of Trump skyscrapers pits his old home base against the building he proudly proclaimed as the tallest building in lower Manhattan post-9/11… on 9/11.

“Six Star Dining”? People only start making up ranking systems when they know they can’t call their product five-star. It’s even worse in restaurants because some folks rate on four or even three star scales, so basically anything from three to five can be pitched as high quality. Instead, they’re making up numbers.

By way of contrast…

See! That’s what you do when you actually CAN claim five stars.

(1) Truth Social v. (2) The Plane

Let’s see how Truth Social’s been doing over the past five days…

Trump’s lost — on paper — something like a billion dollars over the last week. He can’t sell his shares yet, so who knows what this might be worth by the time the appellate process closes. Fun fact: I’ve actually seized a plane before. It involved me coordinating with Texas Rangers to basically boot a 707. Wild process. But a great story.

As we said, voting is open until Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. Eastern.
