Judge Whitaker Is Cleaning Out The Mess From The Shoes She’s Filling In YSL Trial

gavel scalesWhile there is a chance that the YSL RICO case achieves normalcy under Judge Whitaker, the prior judges left some messes that still need to be cleaned up. An obvious pile is Judge Kraus’s decision that judges meeting with star witnesses in their private chambers is par for the course. Brian Steel quickly asked for Judge Whitaker to weigh in.

Judge Whitman’s response is fair. If only the judges were the only carry over problems here. Judge Whitman also has to figure on how the jury might make sense of Mr. Copeland’s prior testimony if the case is to continue:

I’m not sure if you’ve seen any of Mr. Copeland’s time on the stand, but trust that it is a very hard as to unring the bell on “one of the most entertaining witnesses [Law & Crime] has seen so far” in the trial. Do you think you could just throw out what he said after hearing stuff like this?:

Brian Steel isn’t the only one who had procedurals to make. Quamarvious Nichols’s attorney pushed for a mistrial and was denied:

There’s still mess on the tracks, but the train is moving along.
