Nobody has ever suggested that the highest judges in the state ought to make the same as equity partners, but the idea that they should make less than first-year associates to me is not a reasonable idea.

On average, judges on their state’s highest court make a little more than $200,000 per year… which is absolutely less than someone fresh out of law school working as a Biglaw first year associate.
